Struggling to get an appointment?
If you read the Grantham Journal that you may well have seen the well-documented article recently on how GP surgeries are finding it increasingly difficult to recruit doctors and the problems this is causing for patients. We are no exception. 2 GP's have left us over the past 2 years through retirement and relocation, and despite our best efforts and extensive advertising, we have been unable to find suitable replacements. This will mean that you are likely to have to wait longer than you would like to see a doctor for a routine appointment. You may have to wait 2-3 weeks, perhaps longer if you choose to see a specific GP. We will continue to have an emergency doctor available on a daily basis.
We have invested heavily in training for our nursing department and now have a team of specially trained Minor Ailment/Illness Nurses, who are able to see, treat and prescribe medication for a variety of infections and other minor conditions.
326 appointments were wasted in June as patients failed to attend.
We are now collating figures each month to determine how many appointments and hours are wasted due to patients failing to attend their appointments with us. It is important that if you are unable to attend your appointment that you cancel it in good time. For more information on how to cancel an appointment please find the link at the top of the page.
